Landscape Series Cased Vase on Tangerine

The vase is hand blown using a background of glass powders and chips with flowers made from glass murrinicreated by the artist. Each murrini is made from the cross section of a glass cane that has layers of color with an interior shape of a flower. The murrini pieces are put into floral compositions, sometimes known as millefiori, then picked up hot onto the glass background. After the millefiori has been fused to the surface, a layer of clear glass is added and the piece is blown into the final shape. Both sides of the vase features its own floral composition, with multiple layers of flowers, adding to the depth of the piece.
