Fused glass with furnace made cane and colors flowing across oval shape. Raised 3/8 inch glass layer covering for art glass. Base is designed steel powder-coated for durability.
The multi-colored glass panel is made from kiln formed glass: glass that is cut, fused and fired. When the glass cane and the glass components are added, the final firing of the glass sculpture is done over a stainless steel mold. The glass panel is then shaped to its final form and the depth of the piece is created. Special grids and components are made and then glued to the final piece for additional depth.

" It has been an interesting journey learning and working in several media and now I find the challenge of glass and combination of other materials, to enhance the glass very exciting and challenging."
Sabra's sculpture and furniture is made of laser-cut steel and fused glass. She creates patterns of holes and fringes in the glass. She then makes cane, cutting circles to add dimension to the piece.
Sabra earned a B.F.A. cum laude from Syracuse University. She completed additional graduate work at Syracuse and Parsons School of Design and attended workshops at the Corning Museum of Glass.
