The outer body of the Spring kaleidoscope is made from beautiful iridescent glass adorned with glass rods, copper feet, and a dichroic glass jewel on top. The oil-filled glass cylinder, capped in brass, includes dichroic and hand-blown glass pieces, and tiny glass rods and beads. Dichroic glass surrounds the two-mirror image of the glass cylinder, resulting in infinitely changing, brilliant mandalas surrounded by a beautifully hand-painted floral scene, reminiscent of the beautiful flowers and colors found in a spring garden.

Artist Info
"In my mind I see a sunset, light off the water or sea smoke. I can see it finished and I make it."
Sue Rioux has been pursuing artistic endeavors from a very young age. She started as a water-colorist, literally selling her paintings at local art shows starting at age nine. This experience taught her the critical color theory she uses to this day. She moved on to creating stained glass art of all kinds for many years. But she found her true niche designing and creating award-winning glass kaleidoscopes. Her creativity seems to have no bounds, with exquisite oil-cell kaleidoscopes, as well as her signature stained-glass barrel styles, all copper soldered and decorated with special glass details. She works from her home studio, surrounded by the nature that inspires her.
